The Relief Map of the New York City Water Supply System Exhibit at Queens Museum

About This Exhibit

For the 1939–40 World's Fair, city agencies were invited to produce exhibits for the New York City Pavilion, which is now the Queens Museum. The relief map was created by the Department of Water, Gas and Electricity to teach visitors about the watershed and New York's water supply system, quite an engineering achievement. However, at almost 165 m2, the model was too large for the gallery and was not exhibited until a decade later.
